Conference “Artes Digitales: Digital Humanities Forum”

3 April 2026 року

On April 2–3, 2026, Yevhen Rachkov, head of the project “CITY AND WAR 2.0,” participated in the conference “Artes Digitales: Digital Humanities Forum,” held at the Ukrainian Catholic University.

During the conference, he delivered a paper titled “Digital Heritage in Ukraine Today: Infrastructure as an Essential Component of the Sustainable Development of the Field,” which addressed the key achievements and challenges of the digital heritage sector in contemporary Ukraine. The central argument of the presentation was that sustainable development and effective preservation of cultural heritage are not possible without a well-developed digital infrastructure. In Ukraine, such infrastructure is still in the process of formation; therefore, accelerating and better coordinating this process is essential to avoid future challenges and potential crises.

The conference served as an innovative platform for discussing current trends in digital humanities and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration. A notable highlight of the forum was the inauguration of the UCU Center for Digital Humanities.
